International Health Promoting Campuses Symposium

About
Held just before the International Union of Health Promotion Education (IUHPE) conference, the symposium aims to activate the Okanagan Charter on higher education campuses around the world by embedding health into all aspects of campus culture and lead health promotion action and collaboration locally and globally.
The symposium is relevant for academics, management, students, educators, student support staff, researchers, health promotion and public health specialists, and all those interested in the promotion of health, wellbeing and sustainability within Universities, Colleges, Polytechnics and Wānanga (Māori language institutes).
Objectives
The symposium will provide a range of opportunities for participants to
Work with international and national experts experienced in designing health promoting campuses
Participate in the global health promoting universities and colleges movement
Build collective engagement and commitment to implement the Okanagan Charter
Programme
Invited international presentations illustrating activation of the Okanagan Charter in a diverse range of campus settings and national networks
Workshopping the strategic implementation of campus-based health and wellbeing promotion
Increasing senior leadership support on campus
Applying the Charter locally to support health, wellbeing and sustainability with a cultural lens
Attendance
International Health Promoting Campuses Symposium participants do not need to also attend the IUHPE conference
Costs will be kept to a minimum to cover the day
