2025 Limerick
The University of Limerick, Ireland, will host the 2025 International Health Promoting Campuses Conference. The 2025 conference is expected to bring together diverse stakeholders from around the world to share insights and innovations in the field. It also offers an opportunity to review and renew the 2015 Okanagan Charter — which in turn is built on the 2005 Edmonton Charter and the 1986 Ottawa Charter.
2022 Canada
The 2022 International Health Promoting Campuses Symposium was a pre-event before the International Union of Health Promotion Education (IUHPE) World Conference on Health Promotion in Montréal, Canada May 15-19. This one-day virtual symposium aimed to activate the Okanagan Charter on higher education campuses around the world, calling on Higher Education settings to embed health into all aspects of campus culture and lead health promotion action and collaboration locally and globally.
2019 New Zealand
The 2019 International Health Promoting Campuses Symposium was held in Rotorua, New Zealand just before the IUHPE World Conference, with an aim to activate the Okanagan Charter on higher education campuses around the world. The one day symposium brought together academics, management, students, educators, student support staff, researchers, health promotion and public health specialists, and all those interested in the promotion of health, wellbeing and sustainability within the tertiary education sector.
2015 Okanagan Conference
UBC and SFU co-hosted the 2015 International Conference on Health Promoting Universities and Colleges / VII International Congress at the UBC Okanagan campus, bringing together participants from 45 countries, representing both educational institutions and health organizations, including the World Health Organization and UNESCO. Over three days, these organizations collaborated on the development of the Okanagan Charter: An International Charter for Health Promoting Universities and Colleges.
